Vampire Knight is a shojo manga created by Matsuri Hino.

Plot

Vampire Knight mostly takes place in Cross Academy, a prestigious private school with at least an unusual class structure. Students are in fact divided between Class Day, composed of regular students who perform their lessons during the day, and Night Class, an elite group of genes that are really beautiful vampires. Only three persons of the Day Class are aware of this second face of the Night Class: the principal and the two "Guardian", Yuki Cross, the protagonist, and Zero Kiryu. The duties of the guardian are to ensure a peaceful coexistence between the two classes and not to discover the secret of the Night Class. Yuki soon beset by doubts about his past and by bloody visions discovers that Kaname Kuran, the leader of the Night Class, a secret. The three main characters of Vampire Knight characters are: Yuki Cross and Zero Kiryu and Kaname Kuran. Minor, but necessary for the development of the story, are some of the Night Class students. Main Characters Yuki Cross / Kuran Yuki is the main character in the tale told in the manga. This is a Guardian of Cross Academy, and the pure blood vampire Kuran family. Zero Kiryu is a Guardian of Cross Academy, Yuki's childhood friend and sole survivor of the massacre of the family Kiryu. Level D is a vampire and a hunter at the same time. With the blood of Kaname and Yuki has not declined to the level E. Kaname Kuran is a pure blood vampire, founder of the Kuran family, awakened by Rido Kuran.
